Printing ACC's Organizational Charts using Adobe Acrobat Reader

× NOTE: We recommend Adobe's Acrobat Reader to view and print our organizational charts. For printing purposes, Adobe Reader 10+ is required (Adobe Reader 9 or earlier do not offer the tiling option).

Austin Community College's organizational structure, at times, is wide and shallow which can be a challenge when printing one of our organizational charts. Please review the following documentation before printing.

If you are trying to print a wide organizational chart it will not scale to fit on a single page. However, by splitting the page across multiple sheets of paper (called "tiling") the chart can be printed as a readable document. The tiling option calculates how many sheets of paper are needed and you can adjust the size of the organizational chart to best fit the paper and specify how much each "tile" overlaps. After printing, you can piece together the tiles.

  1. 1.At the top of the chart you wish to print click the 'PDF' link.
  2. 2.Open the .PDF file using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  3. 3.Choose File > Print.
  4. 4.From the Page Scaling pop-up menu, click the Poster button and then select one of the following options:

    • Tile Large Pages Tile only the pages that are larger than the paper.
    • Tile All Pages Tile all the pages in the PDF file.

NOTE: If the tile options are not in the menu, make sure that the following options are not selected in the Advanced Print dialog box: Print As Image or, for Acrobat only, Separations or In-RIP Separations. Also check your version of Reader. Reader 9- does not support tiling.

  5. 5.Set the following options as needed:

    • Tile Scale Scales the pages by the amount you specify.
    • Overlap Determines the amount each tile overlaps adjacent tiles.
    • Cut Marks Selecting this prints guide marks on each page to help you trim the overlap.
    • Labels Selecting this adds the filename and page number on each "tile".
